Blue Ocean Aesthetics Holdings (BOAxH) was formed by a group of seasoned life science, medical aesthetic, and private equity professionals. The team is led by NJ Wazaney, an industry executive with over 30 years of experience.

NJ Wazaney
CEO, Blue Ocean Aesthetics Holdings, LLC

As a MedTech Executive with more than 30 years of experience in Start-Up and Fortune 500 companies, NJ Wazaney specializes in launching and growing new technologies, services and companies in the Healthcare and IT space. NJ has a track record of providing successful strategic vision leadership on matters of governance, mission, programs, services and operations to enhance financial stability and growth of an organization. He has seen through the development and implementation of cutting-edge market strategies to out-perform the competitive landscape.

In his previous role with Merz Aesthetics, NJ served as Vice President of Alliances & Partnerships on the North American Leadership Team.  Previous roles including CEO of Symplast, VP Corporate Accounts at Ulthera and various sales/leadership roles at TYRX, IDEV, Cardiva Medical, BARD, CardioDynamics, Kimberly Clark and Ballard Medical.

Michael Floegel
COO, Blue Ocean Aesthetics Holdings, LLC

Michael Floegel has more than thirty years of leadership experience across multiple medical specialties and sites of care in the healthcare, medical device, and pharmaceutical markets. Michael joins Blue Ocean after twelve years with Merz Aesthetics North America where he was most recently SVP, Commercial Operations, and prior to that led the sales and marketing organizations for Merz’s Device Division and at Ulthera, Inc which was acquired by Merz in 2014. Michael also has held positions in sales leadership, global brand management, R&D marketing, and strategic planning during a thirteen-year tenure at Ethicon Endo Surgery (Ethicon, Inc., Johnson & Johnson). 

Michael’s early experience as a military medical services officer and healthcare administrator influenced his perspective on how manufacturers can effectively bring value to healthcare delivery. Having held key leadership roles across various dynamic organizations at different phases of growth, Michael brings invaluable experience to support Blue Ocean in bringing innovative products and services more broadly to the aesthetic market.

Michael Peterson
CTO, Blue Ocean Aesthetics Holdings, LLC
Michael Peterson has been involved in the R&D and Product Development process for over 35 years, playing key roles in introducing innovative products. Most recently he was the Principal Partner in Mozero Consulting, supporting companies needing product development and project management insight. Previously, he was with Merz Aesthetics, serving as VP & Chief Technology Officer for the Merz Device Innovation Center. Mike was the Vice President of R&D at Ulthera, Inc. before Merz acquired it in 2014. Mike has spent the last 20 years in the medical device space after leading R&D, Product Development, and Project Management functions in various industries, including aerospace, semi-conductor, and retail products. He was the VP of R&D when Select Comfort (AIRB) went public in 1998 and has been recognized as a “Distinguished Corporate Inventor” by the American Society of Patent Holders due to his product patents in multiple industries. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace & Mechanics from the University of Minnesota

Akber Pabani
CFO, Blue Ocean Aesthetics Holdings, LLC

Akber Pabani has extensive financial management and leadership experience across multiple business sectors and international geographies. Akber joins Blue Ocean following ten years as the CFO of Fire Engine RED, a leading provider of educational services and CRM software focused on the higher education market. As CFO, Akber led the successful growth and recent sale of Fire Engine RED to New Heritage Capital. Akber’s recent experiences include financial leadership roles in Venture and PE backed companies. Earlier in his career, Akber held financial leadership roles at Eastman Kodak, EDS and Mars Inc. Akber is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. He holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Kent, at Canterbury, England, and an MBA from London Business School.

Michael Shein
Managing Partner, Chartwell Investments Entrepreneur & Founder Capital

Michael (Mike) Shein serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Blue Ocean Aesthetics Holdings, LLC.

Mike has over 30 years of experience in all facets of private equity investing and has participated in the purchase or sale of businesses with transaction values exceeding $4 billion.

Prior to co-founding Chartwell Investments in 1992, Mike worked for Goldman Sachs (mergers & acquisitions department) and was a SVP of a private NYC-based investment firm.

Mike currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors across multiple organizations: Blue Ocean Aesthetics Holdings, LLC, Rohrer Aesthetics, Inc., Contract Datascan Holdings, Inc., PPC Holdings, Inc., EFM Equipment Company, LLC, and General Rubber Corporation, and serves as a Director of Richard Childress Racing. Mike has previously served as Chairman of the Board of Directors or as a Director of multiple private companies including TTG Imaging Solutions, RQM+, Carey International, Bell Sports, Petro Stopping Centers, and SunPark.

Mike graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S.E., summa cum laude.

Deepak Sethi
Vice President, Chartwell Investments Entrepreneur & Founder Capital

Deepak Sethi serves on the Board of Directors for Blue Ocean Aesthetics Holdings, LLC.

Deepak joined Chartwell in 2015, and has 15 years of investment experience. He is responsible for evaluating, structuring, and executing potential new platform and add-on acquisitions, as well as general portfolio company oversight.

Previously, Deepak was an Associate at Hyde Park Holdings (HPH), a middle market buyout firm, where he was responsible for new investment analysis, equity and debt financings, and strategic initiatives. Prior to HPH, he was an Associate at Velocity Capital Advisors (VCA), the external investment advisor to a former publicly traded business development company. At VCA, he helped to grow the portfolio by analyzing and executing unitranche, 1st lien, 2nd lien, and mezzanine investments as part of a general credit strategy. Prior to VCA, he held various roles within the finance division at Morgan Stanley. He started his career as an Analyst with GE Capital.

Deepak currently serves on the Board of Directors of Blue Ocean Aesthetic Holdings, LLC, Rohrer Aesthetics, Inc., Contract Datascan Holdings, Inc., EFM Equipment Company, LLC, and General Rubber Corporation and has previously served as a Director of TTG Imaging Solutions. Deepak has an MBA from the New York University Stern School of Business, a B.S. from the Fairfield University Dolan School of Business as a dual major in Finance and Marketing.

Mark Hauser
Founder and Managing Partner, Tamarix Equity Partners

Mark Hauser serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for Blue Ocean Aesthetics Holdings, LLC.

Mark has over 30 years of experience in private equity, private credit, asset management and investment banking. He founded the Tamarix Group in 1993, with his previous roles including Senior Managing Director of OFS Capital Management, Global Head of Private Equity at Sandell Asset Management and Managing Director at FdG Associates. Mark has also served on numerous private and public boards of directors and philanthropic organizations, and is also a member of the Economic Club of NY and YPO/WPO. He received his Masters of Laws from London School of Economics and Bachelor of Economics and Laws from Sydney University.

Bardia Mesbah
Managing Director, Tamarix Equity Partners

Bardia Mesbah serves on the Board of Directors for Blue Ocean Aesthetics Holdings, LLC.

Bardia is a seasoned industry executive with investment, private equity, venture capital, and consulting experience. He has worked for Tamarix Equity Partners since 2020, where he focuses on private equity origination, pre-investment due diligence, and work with portfolio companies on growth strategies. Before Tamarix, Bardia worked at Brookstone Partners for 14 years, where he led origination and due diligence activities. His prior experience to Brookstone includes 4 years in venture and leveraged buyouts with Emigrant Capital and 4 years advising Fortune 500 companies with consulting firm Kline & Company. Bardia received his Bachelor Degree in engineering from Cornell University and MBA from Boston University.

Mark Rohrer
President, Rohrer Aesthetics

Mark Rohrer serves on the Board of Directors for Blue Ocean Aesthetics Holdings, LLC.

Mark's laser career began in 1990. He was first involved with repairing surgical lasers, and in 1995 he transitioned into selling aesthetic lasers. Inspired to provide more affordable laser technology, in 2000, he founded Sandstone Medical Technologies, LLC (Sandstone). Based in Birmingham, AL, the Sandstone and Rohrer names became synonymous for providing systems that allowed aesthetic institutions the ability to realize a return on their investment in a shorter period. In 2012 the assets of Sandstone were purchased by Ellman International (A Cynosure Company).  After fulfilling his 2-year obligations as the EVP of Ellman, Mark took a year off. Then in the fall of 2015, he introduced Rohrer Aesthetics, LLC. The company now has sales exceeding $30,000,000 in revenue and offers a complete line of affordable, high quality, reliable energy-based devices and is proud to partner with Blue Ocean Aesthetic Holdings, LLC.
